    POST MILLS — Connor Kennedy Cook, 16 of Post Mills died peacefully June 27, 2012, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., surrounded by his loving family. His untimely death was the result of injuries sustained from lightning, which struck him on June 23, 2012, while working at Crossroads Farm in Post Mills.

    Connor was born in Lebanon, N.H. on Oct. 10, 1995, the son of Clyde and Marilyn (Kennedy) Cook and brother of Kylie. He lived his entire life in Post Mills. He started his education at Caring Community Preschool in Post Mills and continued on to Thetford Elementary School and through his sophomore year at Thetford Academy.

    He was an excellent student, receiving high honors for his academic achievements, with particular interests in languages and science. He was also a gifted athlete who excelled in track and field, basketball and his most favorite, soccer. He also participated in the Lightning Soccer Club, the Atomic Roosters at the Grantham Indoor and on a summer soccer league team, the Hartford Juniors.

    And let’s not forget the much anticipated “Turkey Bowl” at TES. Connor was known for combining technical skills with a team-oriented spirit. He put his whole heart into every endeavor and excelled at whatever he set his mind to.

    Connor had a wide range of other interests, including swimming, fishing, hiking, golf, camping trips, building camp fires “The Master Fire Builder” (singed eyebrows and all on occasion) and summer at Squam Lake. He also enjoyed visiting Ireland with his family and a school trip to France. Connor will be remembered for his warm personality, enthusiasm, and great sense of humor, which endeared him to his many friends.

    In addition to his parents and sister, Connor leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary (Eddy) Kennedy of Chelsea and paternal grandmother, Anne (Lingelbach) Cook of Norwich; aunts and uncles, Linda and Paul Terrio of Westford, Mass., Carol and Kevin Nickerson of Spencer, N.Y., Robert “Wally” Cook and Gisu Mohadjer of Chevy Chase, Md. and Ruth and Jon MacKinnon of Thetford Center; and cousins, Angela, Lisa and Bethanie Terrio, Mary and Ryan Nickerson, Arianna MacKinnon and Johnny and Milly Cook. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert K. Cook and his dear childhood friend, Kathy Garland.

    Connor will be laid to rest at the Post Mills Cemetery in a private ceremony. A public memorial celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Thetford Academy Gymnasium in Thetford.
