    WEST RUTLAND — NeighborWorks of Western Vermont elected a new slate of directors at its 26th annual meeting.

    Rich Carlson of Mendon was elected president of the board. Carlson is also chairman of the Rutland County Master Gardeners, former president of the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the capital fundraising committee for the Rutland Farmers’ Market Center. He succeeds Ron Bower, who served as president since 2008.

    Other elected officers are as follows:

    n Vice President — Kathy Allen, attorney

    n Secretary — Jayne Pratt, West Rutland Town Clerk

    n Treasurer — Christopher Carpenter, assistant vice president at National Bank of Middlebury

    New members include James Leary, an independent attorney in Brandon, Lou Maguire of Dorset, a mortgage loan originator at Berkshire Bank and Kate Thomas, a Vermont Law School student.

    Long-standing board members are Cindy Adams, a small business owner in Fair Haven, Ken DeCandio, State Farm Insurance agent in Rutland and Ron Bower, dealer finance representatives at NBT Bank.

    The meeting was attended by about 40 clients, local partners and contractors.
