ST. ALBANS — A Vermont man has been accused of driving under the influence with his 5-year-old son in the back seat of his truck.

Police said they got a call Sunday about a driver’s erratic weaving and drifting between lanes on Interstate 89 north near St. Albans.

The driver, identified as 48-year-old Thomas Berno of St. Albans, stopped on his own as he was exiting the highway.

Berno also was accused of cruelty to children. A family member came to pick up the child.
