    Was it a story?

After reading about the dust up over the convicted sex offender who was apparently floating around Barre homeless, I was wondering “what’s the sudden big deal over this guy?”

I couldn’t figure out what the actual issue was. Is it that he’s a sex offender? Guess what, Barre has nearly 40 of them in the area. The city of Montpelier has 12,according to the Vermont Sex Offender Registry. No one seem to give a crap about that figure all that much.

Is the issue that he’s homeless? Well, we get treated to the homeless parade every day when the shelters boot out the residents at 8a.m. or so, and they all hump up on the benches and in the gazebo in nicely renewed City Hall Park. No one cares about that either apparently. So, I repeat, what’s the issue? Or is it tempest in a teapot to fill column space?

By the way, the “homeless sex offender” is living in Montpelier now only a $1 bus ride away, so don’t breathe a sigh of relief just yet.
