SOUTH BURLINGTON — Police say a swimmer who jumped from an 80-foot cliff near Red Rocks beach in South Burlington was taken to the hospital for severe bruises.

Police said the 32-year-old man landed in a seated position Monday. Police said it was like landing on concrete. His name was not released.

Neighbors of the area said jumping from the cliffs is popular.
