Dorothy Whittemore

RUTLAND — Dorothy Whittemore, 90, died June 9, 2012, at Rutland Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 5, 1922, in Rutland, the daughter of Fred and Grace (Chaffee) Anoe.

She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in Rutland.

She was a member of St. Peter Church and enjoyed country music, playing the piano and taking long walks.

Survivors include seven children, Dorothy Jean Henderson, of Balch Springs, Texas, Virginia Hubbard, of Barre, Paula Gregory, of Galveston, Texas, Joseph, of St. Albans, Ralph, of Hampton, N.Y., Peter, of Rutland, and John Whittemore; a sister, Anna Densmore, of Rutland; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard G. Whittemore, in 1998 and by several brothers and sisters.

There will be no calling hours.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at St. Peter Church in Rutland, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
