HARDWICK — A Hardwick woman who was severely burned in a fire Thursday morning has died, state police said Friday.
Valerie Hawkspirit, 75, died of injuries she suffered in a blaze that destroyed her home on Wapanaki Road. Hawkspirit was hospitalized Thursday after emergency personnel found her on the debris-strewn lawn outside her burning home shortly before 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators say it is not believed to be suspicious.
