• Digging the service at local stores

We Dig Barre or not, shop downtown Barre. It’s worth the trip.

I needed to replace another handle for my wheelbarrow and stopped in at Aubuchon’s on Main Street in Barre because I was sure that was where I purchased it originally.

I complained it was the third handle I needed to buy for this wheelbarrow in the 12 to 15 years I have owned it. Quality issue for me. Turns out the wheelbarrow was only 10 years old and came from a True Value store, not Aubuchon. I confirmed this when I was told that it was not a brand item sold by Aubuchon.

That didn’t stop the manager from making it a deal for me. No charge! I shouldn’t walk out unhappy with the third time replacement issue, and he made sure of that. Far above and beyond the call to keep a customer happy.

This is the kind of service you get from smalltown retailers. Big box stores simply don’t show this kind of effort on behalf of the customer.
