• Cabot Creamery should treat waste
    May 22,2012

Here we go again. AgriMark/Cabot Creamery is asking for another permit amendment. They want to spray on even more land. They are taking some land off their list, but even so our group feels that it is not right for them to be spraying up to 185,000 gallons of toxic wastewater on Vermont lands. They need to put in a waste treatment facility like any other food processing company has had to do. We are trying to work with AgriMark/Cabot Creamery along with a student of John Todd of UVM to find a resolution for this problem. John Todd is an expert in biological waste treatment facilities and has even helped to put in a treatment facility for Ben & Jerry’s.

Another practice that I don’t believe people realize is the fact that they have been fined for having growth hormones in their products. They were fined and the attorney general has required them to put up a site on the Internet stating what products have this growth hormone in them. It is quite a list. And to think that they have the state contract for the school lunch program and WIC.

Help us out by either contacting Gov. Peter Shumlin, expressing your concerns by letter to the editors or boycotting their products. If you would like more information go to wheytogoVermont.weebly.com and you will get information on how to contact us.
