BERLIN — A 21-year-old was arrested after allegedly leading officers from the Berlin Police Department on a chase through Berlin and Barre early Saturday.
Just before 2:45 a.m. police took Dalton Otis into custody on charges of driving under the influence, attempting to elude police, careless and negligent operation of a motor vehicle and driving at excessive speeds. Police tried to stop Otis on Route 63 in Berlin for speeding, but Otis, who had two passengers, did not stop.
Police pursued Otis into Barre. When he stopped, Otis’ passengers ran into the woods and got away.
When police arrested Otis they reported there was a strong odor of intoxicants emitting from him, according to a news release.
