@$ID/[No paragraph style]:We’re talking about real money
A million, a billion - no trillions - that’s Congress’ debt to China. Buried in the news is that Patrick Leahy borrowed from China (or somewhere, because we have no money) $3.9 million for a program at Vermont Law School and another organization and at sometime Institute for Sustainable Communities to encourage more environmental advocacy to empower ordinary citizens in China by building legal training capacity for lawyers and civic organizations in challenging government corruption, local pollutions and threats to worker health and safety in China.
If Leahy really cared about China’s environment - he’d stop giving tax breaks for American corporations to take American jobs to China.
And, hey, don’t feel bad, he usually gets $15 million for grant programs for rule-of-law training in China. Apparently we don’t have any Chinese in our colleges or internationally connected computers that could teach this in a far cheaper way. I know, I know - we the ordinary, regular - what is it Bernie calls those of us that have to pay extra taxes so the 1% can enjoy not only their money but ours too - paid for all the that infrastructure for the computer giants and now we still pay.
Someone should tell Leahy about the college debt that his and his buddies in Congress have created for American students. Maybe he could stop the cost shift of foreign student’s debt to our American students. No, wait, he’s been in Congress for decades and we the people continue to lose our rights and freedoms, jobs, homes and health care.
