Man arrested for grabbing $20s from cash registerMay 03,2012
BARRE — A Northfield man was arrested Tuesday night following a grab-and-run cash register robbery at the North Main Street Cumberland Farms.
According to police, Olaf Heeding, 45, entered the store just before midnight and purchased a hot chocolate and potato chips, before using the restroom. When Hedding returned from the washroom, he went to purchase another item and as the clerk opened the cash register drawer, Hedding allegedly grabbed money from the $20 bill section.
Police have not disclosed how much money was taken. Police report that Hedding was apprehended and confessed to the robbery.
