• Worcester approves school, town budgets

    WORCESTER — Voters passed both the town and school budgets from the floor of town meeting.

    The town budget of $540,868 is $11,528, or 2.09 percent, less than this year’s budget of $552,396. The highway budget of $294,071 is $5,107, or 1.8 percent, more than this year’s budget of $288,964.

    The school budget of $1,137,437 is $43,137, or 3.94 percent, more than this year’s budget of $1,094,267.

    The budget includes a $33,700 increase in salary and benefit costs.
