MONTPELIER — Birchgrove Baking is back from a two-week hiatus.

Owner Jen Toce said that every January the bakery closes for a respite.

“We took a week off and went on vacation,” she said.

Then Toce took another week this year to do renovations.

Toce hired local painter Jesse Lubold to put on a fresh coat of paint — yellow this time.
