Public interest appreciated
On behalf of the City of Barre, I would like to express our appreciation to the public for coming out on Jan. 19 to learn more about the exciting proposed addition to downtown Barre - City Place. The City Place project is indeed a unique opportunity for downtown Barre and when it is built (projected completion date is fall 2013), it will be a place not only for commerce but also public and community life with needed products and services.
You can see the presentation slides, video, and transcript at www.CityPlaceBarre.com. The video will also be aired on Charter Cable Channel 7 the week of Jan. 30 thanks to Central Vermont Television. At www.CityPlaceBarre.com, you can also ask your questions, get answers, and review a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
Finally, if you are interested in actively supporting City Place today, go to the website to sign an e-petition, “like” the City Place Facebook page, or sign up for the City Place e-newsletter to receive regular updates and news about the project.
It’s worth noting that City Place has been proposed by the administration to house state office workers from the Department of Education.
The City of Barre is appreciative of the support from the administration and legislative delegates for building smart in Vermont’s downtowns. And, we look forward to working with them to make City Place a reality by fall 2013.
