BROOKFIELD — Vermont State Police arrested a Brookfield man on charges of domestic assault and interference to emergency service following an incident Thursday.
Eliah Young, 37, was arrested at his Bear Hill Road home following a 911 call that was interrupted. While Troopers were responding they received an additional call reporting a family fight at the same address. Troopers were advised that firearms were possibly involved and a woman had fled the residence with her children.
Troopers met the woman and her children and transported them to a safe location.
Through an investigation police determined Young had allegedly assaulted the woman and smashed several phones in the home preventing her from calling police and had smashed the phone the woman had used to dial 911.
Young later turned himself in to Vermont State Police and was arraigned in Chelsea criminal court the following day and released with court conditions.MORE IN This Just InBETHEL — Police say a home on Cleveland Brook Road was burglarized sometime during the day Friday.
