• Man killed in Vt house fire, two others escape

    ESSEX JUNCTION — A Vermont man has died after a fire in his two-story house, but his wife and grandson managed to escape.

    Police say 77-year-old Donald Struthers, of Essex Junction, died Monday afternoon.

    Police say the cause of the fire has not been determined. An autopsy on Struthers was completed Tuesday. Police say toxicology results are still pending.
