• Man faces fourth arrest of DUI

    NORTHFIELD— Police arrested a Northfield man on suspicion of driving under the influence, his fourth such offense, on the night of Nov. 26.

    Police report that an officer stopped a vehicle for following too closely during which time the operator ran into a local convenience store.

    Don Edson Jr., 29, of Northfield was later located and allegedly provided the officer with a false name and date of birth. The officer determined the male was actually Edson and that he was under criminal suspension.

    Edson was taken into custody and officers found that Edson was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was processed for his fourth offense of allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

    He was jailed at St. Johnsbury Correctional Facility for lack of bail and cited to Barre criminal court to answer to the charges.
