BURLINGTON — Vermont’s U.S. attorney’s office said a 32-year-old Sheffield woman has pleaded not guilty to charges she embezzled $315,000 from her employer.
Sarah Sanville entered the plea Thursday in federal court in Burlington.
Sanville was indicted last month by a grand jury on one count of embezzling the money from her former employer, Radiantec Company of Lyndonville.
Prosecutors said Sanville worked as a bookkeeper from 2005 until 2011.
Sanville allegedly wrote checks to herself and other people or organization’s for her benefit.
The indictment seeks forfeiture of Sanville’s home and other property.
She was released on conditions. Her trial has not been scheduled.
