WORCESTER — Police arrested a homeless man in East Randolph after a high-speed chase in a stolen car that ended after the vehicle crashed into another one.
Police said Travis Woodbury, 20, was driving more than 100 mph on Interstate 89 in Royalton when they began the pursuit Saturday. Woodbury left the highway and drove on Route 14 at speeds police say exceeded 90 mph.
The chase eventually ended when the pursued car collided with a vehicle driven by James Tracy, of Tunbridge, then crashed through a fence and into a field.
Police said Woodbury was taken into custody Saturday afternoon without further incident. He was jailed at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department on charges of negligent operation, attempting to elude, operation of a vehicle without the owner’s consent, excessive speed and violation of conditions of release.MORE IN This Just InBETHEL — Police say a home on Cleveland Brook Road was burglarized sometime during the day Friday.
