HUBBARDTON, Vt. (AP) — Amateur astronomers and others are invited to view the night sky at Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site this week.
The Green Mountain Alliance of Amateur Astronomers will hold its annual “By the Light of the Silvery Moon” astronomy program on Thursday night.
Officials say it’s a great way for people to get introduced to astronomy. They’re are invited to bring their telescopes or binoculars, blankets and bug spray for the public program which starts at 8 p.m. and is free.
Ron Lewis, president of the Green Mountain Alliance of Amateur Astronomers, says the Hubbardton Battlefield is an ideal spot to observe the night sky, away from urban sky glow.
