South Hero crash kills 1

SOUTH HERO — Vermont State Police say a passenger in a car that crashed into a utility pole in South Hero was pronounced dead.
A Nissan traveling on West Shore Road veered off the highway Saturday morning and struck the pole. The female driver sustained cuts and bruises to the face and head, a broken arm and internal injuries.
The male passenger, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at a hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
