EAST MONTPELIER – There are two contested Selectboard races on the Town Meeting Day ballot for voters in East Montpelier.

Residents C. Bruce Johnson and Jamie Laquerre are running for one 3-year term, and Carl Etnier and Seth B. Gardner are seeking one 2-year term on the board.

Most other races are uncontested: Putnam Clayton for lister, Deborah Fillion and Charlotte "Cherie" Staples for two auditor positions, Elliott Morse for cemetery commissioner, Sandy F. Conti and Paul Haynes for two constables posts, Karen M. Gramer for collector of delinquent taxes, Andrew Colnes and Trevor Lewis for Elementary School directors, and Virginia "Ginny" Burley for U-32 school director.

In addition, voters will be asked to approve a $1.1 million municipal budget, and a $3.2 million school budget for East Montpelier Elementary School.

Also on the ballot is a request to increase the property tax exemption for veterans from $10,000 of appraisal value to $20,000 of appraisal value.
