Marauders hold off Raiders for 3-2 win

NORTHFIELD – The Northfield boys hockey team held back a late U-32 charge to post a 3-2 victory over the Raiders on Wednesday.
Daegan Goodman, Jacob Audet-Ricker and Loren LaHart all tallied single goals for the Marauders.
Corey Johnson scored two goals in the third period for U-32. He was assisted both times by Caleb Brabant.
Bennett Augustoni had 17 saves for Northfield (7-1).
Raider goalie Joseph Carriveau stopped 20 shots.
Northfield visits Brattleboro Monday while U-32 travels to Woodstock.
BOYS HOCKEY
North Country 7,
Peoples Academy 0
MORRISVILLE – Five different players tallied goals as North Country earned a 7-0 boys hockey victory over Peoples Academy on Wednesday.
Tyler Coulter led the way for the Falcons with two goals. Teammate Ellis Rushford contributed one goal and two assists.
Lucas Caldwell turned back 38 shots for the Wolves.
Goalie Chris Bronson had 18 saves for North Country.
People Academy falls to 1-6 and plays at Mount Mansfield on Monday.
GIRLS HOCKEY
U-32 4, Stowe 2
MONTPELIER – Alicia Danyew scored two goals and tallied an assist to lead U-32 to a 4-2 girls hockey win over Stowe on Wednesday.
Zoe Myers and Katie Kreis also scored for 7-0-1 U-32. Jyneva Pickel (three assists), Kreis and Gabrielle Coletti also recorded assists. Ashley Vincent made 14 saves for U-32.
Malia Bartholomew and Kim Haab scored for Stowe, and teammate Mikayla Geraci stopped 11 shots.
U-32 plays at Mount Mansfield on Wednesday. Stowe 4-1 plays Rice home on Wednesday.
Northfield 6, Woodstock 0
NORTHFIELD – Lindsey Hunt scored twice as Northfield blanked Woodstock 6-0 in girls hockey on Wednesday.
Jenna Dorman, Patti Lan-gley, Elana Van Arnam and Kristi Luce (one assist) also scored for the 5-2 Marauders. Olivia Drown tallied two assists and Stephanie Morvan and Renee Guy combined for five saves. Emily Koepfier stopped 44 shots for Woodstock.
Northfield plays at Montpelier on Monday.
Middlebury 4, Harwood 3
DUXBURY – Emily Hescock scored the winning goal two minutes into the third period to lead Middlebury to a 4-3 girls hockey victory over Harwood on Wednesday.
Megan Burrows, Morgan Lamson and Lora Moore all knocked in goals for Harwood (2-5).
Highlander goalie Kaitlin Mclean-Dailey had 13 saves.
Ashley Howlett stopped 23 shots for North Country.
The Highlanders host Brattleboro on Monday at 5 p.m.
Montpelier 10, North Country 4
STANSTEAD, QUEBEC – Montpelier jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one period on the way to Wednesday's 10-4 victory over North Country.
Erin Banfield led the way for the Solons, tallying four goals and four assists.
"Erin did a nice job scoring goals," Montpelier coach Chris Turley said. "She was really unselfish trying to set people up in the second and third periods."
Mary Blythe had a hat trick for the Solons, with teammates Molly Estabrook, Katie Murray (one assist), and Ali Palin (one assist) all knocking in single goals.
Montpelier goalie Mary Cain recorded 18 saves.
Greer Lemnah scored three goals for North Country.
The Solons (5-2) host Northfield on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
