WAITSFIELD – A South Hero woman caused a two-car collision late Friday afternoon when she tried to access Route 100 from a residential driveway near the North Fayston Road, according to police.

Police say no one was injured but that the impact caused substantial damage to both vehicles and they had to be towed from the scene. Patty Rousseau, 51, caused the accident, according to police, when she pulled onto Route 100 in Waitsfield from a driveway in front on an oncoming vehicle.

Her car was hit on the driver's side by Kelley Peterson, 26, of Moretown. Rousseau was issued a ticket for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
