MONTPELIER,- Vermont’s Capital City will be paid in full for the loss it suffered from an overpayment to a Newport construction company.
City officials revealed earlier this year that an accounting error had led to a 2004 overpayment to Scott Construction Co. by a total of $462,000.
City officials were criticized both for the error and not making it public immediately.
Mayor Mary Hooper and City Manager William Fraser say that the city will collect more than $397,000 from the Vermont League of Cities and Towns Property and Casualty Insurance Fund.
The city already had collected nearly $115,000 in repayments from Scott Construction, bringing the total to more than the original loss.

This article and its content sounds like a Quiz question? How can a public entity get back more money then it has lost? If you can get it go for it. Sounds like you scratch my back and I will scratch yours.
