18 cars involved in accident on I-89

BOLTON – Speed and slippery roads caused a multi-car collision Tuesday morning on Interstate 89 in Bolton, according to the Vermont State Police. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. near mile marker 73 where there were eight separate collisions involving 18 vehicles within one-tenth of a mile, police said.
The highway was covered with snow and black ice, said police.
Only one person was injured. Christopher Farnham, 19, of Moretown, was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care with back and neck injuries, police said. The individual crashes are still being investigated.
