Iginla's hat trick lifts Flames over Kings

LOS ANGELES — Jarome Iginla scored a goal in each period to lead the Calgary Flames to a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Iginla completed his first hat trick of the season, and ninth of his career, with a shot from the right circle that got past goalie Jonathan Quick with 4:07 left in the game. It was Iginla's 11th goal in his last nine games.



Red Wings 3, Canadiens 2, SO

MONTREAL — Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg scored on Detroit's first two shootout attempts to lift the Red Wings past Montreal.

Brad Stuart and Datsyuk scored power-play goals 2:01 apart in the first period for Detroit.



Hurricanes 3, Lightning 1

RALEIGH, N.C. — Tuomo Ruutu and Jussi Jokinen scored second-period goals, and Manny Legace made 20 saves for Carolina.

Martin St. Louis scored for the Lightning and Mike Smith made 24 saves.



Panthers 3, Rangers 2

NEW YORK — Nathan Horton, Jordan Leopold and Steven Reinprecht scored goals and Tomas Vokoun made 32 saves for Florida.



Penguins 3, Thrashers 2

ATLANTA — Defenseman Martin Skoula scored twice, Evgeni Malkin added a goal and Pittsburgh held on for its third victory in eight games.



Senators 5, Sabres 3

OTTAWA — Daniel Alfredsson had two goals and an assist, and Filip Kuba had a goal and three assists in Ottawa's third straight victory.



Stars 5, Devils 3

DALLAS — Defenseman Stephane Robidas had two goals and two assists, rookie Tom Wandell scored the tiebreaking goal for Dallas midway through the third period.



Blues 4, Islanders 1

ST. LOUIS — David Perron scored twice, and Patrik Berglund had his first goal in 13 games for St. Louis.



Coyotes 3, Flyers 1

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Keith Yandle scored a power-play goal with 9:41 remaining, and Matthew Lombardi had a power-play goal and an assist for Phoenix.



Maple Leafs 2, Capitals 1, SO

TORONTO — Phil Kessel and Niklas Hagman scored shootout goals to give Toronto its first victory in six games.



Predators 4, Blue Jackets 3, SO

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mike Santorelli and David Legwand scored shootout goals for Nashville, and Pekka Rinne stopped two of Columbus' three shooters in the tiebreaker to earn his fifth consecutive victory.

Jason Arnott, Legwand and Martin Erat scored in regulation for Nashville. R.J. Umberger had two goals, and Anton Stralman also scored for the Blue Jackets.
