WASHINGTON – Police cited a 36-year-old Williamstown man on Thursday for a series of offenses that stemmed from an incident late last month.
Michael Avery is scheduled to appear in Vermont District Court in Barre on Dec. 2 to face charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without the owner's consent and disorderly conduct.
Police say Avery took a vehicle that belonged to 46-year-old Williamstown resident Cindy Turner and drove it to a Woodchuck Hollow Road location, because he had a dispute regarding a snowmobile with a man who lived there.
Avery was intoxicated at the time, with a blood-alcohol level of .180 percent, police said. He admitted to driving the car, according to police.
