TOWNSHEND – A plane taxiing in a field flipped over Friday afternoon, but no one was seriously hurt, according to Vermont State Police.

Police determined that Mark C. Onyon, 49, of the town of Jamaica, was taxiing a Cessna 120 in a field behind the Riverbend Bar and Grill in Townshend after landing at about 3:30 p.m. Onyon applied the brakes to slow down and the plane pitched forward, causing the propeller to hit the ground.

The plane rolled over and stopped upside down. Police said Onyon, who suffered a minor cut to his right shin, was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed.

The Cessna's front end, engine and rear tail fin were damaged in the crash.

The Boston office of the Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the incident.
