Sen. Flanagan won't face any charges

BURLINGTON — A prosecutor says state Sen. Edward Flanagan will not face charges over allegations he engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct at a Burlington health club.
Addison County State's Attorney Chris Perkett, who reviewed the case, says he cannot prove that Flanagan intentionally engaged in the behavior inside a men's fitness room at the YMCA in July.
Flanagan said that his actions, which were reported by a club member to the YMCA and then police, could have been misinterpreted.
Flanagan, D-Chittenden, says he plans to serve out his Senate term before deciding what office to seek in 2010.
