MONTPELIER (AP) — The No. 2 man at the state Department of Information and Innovation has been named to the top job.
Gov. James Douglas announced the appointment Friday of David H. Tucker of Northfield as commissioner of the department where he's worked for four years as deputy commissioner. He'll also be the state's chief information officer.
He succeeds Tom Murray, who resigned to become executive director of the Vermont Telecommunications Authority.
Tucker worked for almost 20 years for the state Department of Labor. Douglas says Tucker's experience in state government and in the Department of Information and Innovation make him uniquely qualified for the job.
