Accident victim flown to N.H. hospital

EAST BETHEL – A South Royalton man was flown to the hospital following a single-car crash Saturday afternoon.
Police said that around 2 p.m., Joshua N. Honkala, 31, was driving west on Factory Hill Road in a 2005 Nissan Altima when he failed to negotiate a turn and left the road. Police said Honkala's car overturned and he was partially ejected from the vehicle. Police did not know if he was wearing a seat belt.
Police said Honkala suffered a serious laceration and he was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where he was listed Saturday afternoon in stable condition. Police said it does not appear Honkala used his brakes before he went off the road and the crash is still under investigation.
White River Valley Ambulance and Bethel Fire Department also responded to the scene.
