Was Obama born in U.S.?

Toolbox

Published: July 23, 2009

By the requirements set forth in the 'Law of the Land,' our U.S. Constitution, a person is eligible for the office of U.S. President if they are 35 years of age and a natural born citizen.

What is a 'natural born citizen?' In a case involving John McCain's birth in Panama, a natural born citizen must be born of either 2 U.S. citizens or born on U.S. soil. Neither of these situations has been met by Mr. Obama.

His mother was a U.S. citizen; his father a Kenyan citizen. That doesn't work. He claims to have been born in Hawaii. While there's a 'certificate of live birth,' such a document could have been acquired by anyone in Hawaii at that time, since Hawaii after joining the Union allowed births from other countries to have U.S. live birth certificates.

My, Obama has been asked by thousands of people to provide substantial proof – an actual birth certificate. Neither Mr. Obama, the Democratic Party, nor his supposed birth hospital in Hawaii have provided such proof despite continuous requests.

Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook filed a lawsuit on July 8 in federal court and asked for conscientious objector status and a preliminary injunction based upon the belief that President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States. Thus, he is ineligible to serve as president of the United States and commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. Days later, his orders for deployment were revoked. Why? All they had to do was present the birth certificate, but there isn't one.

Obama's Kenyan grandmother has even gone on the record to say that Obama was born in Kenya. That she saw it with her own two eyes. Why would grandma lie?

If anyone had any substantial proof that Obama was born in the U.S, they could be $10,000 richer. Joseph Farah of World Net Daily is offering this reward for evidence that Obama was born here. To date, there have been no takers.

America, you've been duped again. Blinded by the good feelings that Obama's change agenda brought, you bought his failed economic plan which threatens to destroy our country financially. You bought that he won't increase the taxes of those who make less than $250,000 "by one dime." Oh he might not tax you directly, but he will tax you. He must in order to pay for his healthcare proposals in Congress.

You're being lied to. You know the old saying, 'If a politicians lips are moving, then he's lying.' Obama, Democrats, and the national media are covering up Obama's illegitimacy.

Let me tell you who the bell tolls for Mr. Obama, it tolls for thee.

Mr. Richards,

Sometimes Walt and I labor under the (apparent) (mis)conception that human beings are capable of learning and growing. Thank you for your sage advice. Hopefully, through discussion and exegesis some progress happens. I know I learn a lot about human nature and constitution here. Hopefully, not all talks with fools turn you into one. Otherwise, its too late for us all.

Pour into well greased tube pan, I use little loaf pans and regular loaf pans.

Bake at 325 for 1 hour or less depending on size of pan you use, a toothpick should come out clean

When done cool on wire rack

It's OK, WAWA...your record of liberal slurp earns you your own reputation...no need for so-called name calling. You should look at your own past posts for vicious labeling and name-calling....but some people are obviously so narrow minded as to block out anything that exposes your warped self-righteousness.

God Bless you Walt. You are a true Patriot. Educator is not your forte, but keep the coffee hot and walk around in your sandals as you pontificate all day long in the hallways. We are sure the taxpayers are impressed...taking more personal days this year, or are you satisfied with the usual AWOLs? Ooops, sorry, that is a military term, didnt mean to skew your anti-military stance. Ever been in uniform?
I thought not.

Have a great lib weekend. The Burlington Parade missed you today, tho we know you must have been there in spirit....

Mr. The Claw (if that is your real name),

Did you ever think that maybe a few well informed folks knew all along that Obama's birth certificate was for real, and that you were being played in order to make you look like the reactionary know-naughts that you act like? Did you know that Factcheck.org debunked this myth back in August of '08? And that info has been available online continuously for anyone who cares to look? Do any of you feel any shame here? Do you feel misled by members of the Republican leadership whom you followed down this dead end? I.E.: Your Glenn Beck calling the certificate a "horrible forgery." Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday saying that Obama "has yet to prove he's a citizen." Lou Dobbs saying that Obama should do more to dispel the claims. This was only ever an issue for those who chose not to admit (and spend 2 minutes online looking for) the truth. You should be asking yourselves, "What kind of a person am I to get swept up in mob thinking" like you right-wing "thinkers" did here? And, "How can we better avoid looking like such a massive idiots next time?" Well, I truly wish you luck with that. Because any progress you make will benefit the rest of us, too. Truly.

By the way, the issue of the Occidental College records is especially pertinent. The United States Justice Foundation (USJF) served officials at Occidental College with a subpoena to produce records concerning Barack Obama's attendance there during the 1980's, because those records could document whether he was attending as a foreign national. You see, Mr. Obama attended the school on a scholarship -- and there are questions as to whether the financial aid he received was reserved for foreign students. The Obama attorneys have bent over backward to block us. He doesn't want anyone to see those records. He's STILL trying to hide them; those financial records STILL have not been released.

WHAT is Barack Obama trying to hide? WHAT is he afraid of?

Well at least since Obama has taken office the market has started to recover. Have to give credit for that. S&P 500 is posting a 17% 6 month return. Hopefully S&P 500 will continue on to post a 30% annual return this year. I wont be holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
Though at least Obama didn't go on national television and tell the public that shareholders of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have nothing to worry about. I think it was about March 7th 2008 - March 20th 2008 shares went from 22 to 34 bucks. As long as you sold your shares for 34 bucks. Than turned around and bought put options. Luckily I managed to buy 5 $35 call option contracts of fannie mae stock for something like $1500. After 4 months the shares had no value and the call contracts were worth $3,000 each. Totaling $15,000 for simply doing the exact opposite of what George Bush said to do.

Allan MacGregor and insane company,

Once again, there is NO REQUIREMENT that one have a birth certificate to be a citizen of the U.S.. While not common today, lots of citizens have not had birth certificates issued (for children of color in the U.S. it was fairly common for a long time.) My step-grandmother had no birth certificate and she was born in Maryland. With that said, Mr. Obama is under no requirement to produce one (even though he has one) on your say so.

What he certainly does have (because he could not do the traveling he has done as a Senator without one) that has his place of birth printed in it is a U.S. Passport. Of course, he's under no obligation to show you that either. Ha, ha! Do you have any idea how amusing it is watching the insane and pathetic right wing of the U.S. twist like pigs on the spit about this non-issue?

So what's your thinking here? Something like, "Here's a charismatic, articulate, intelligent black man... he can't possibly be an American!"? You guys are a trip. A sad, sad, hysterical trip. Please keep the funny going....

Mr. Amses, I find this amusing that I have to explain this to you. Unfortunately, your so tilted to the left that degrading others with your elitist grammar comes natural to you. First of all, Mr. DeGeorge can voice his opinion just like the rest of us. Since you and others on this post disagree with him the first thing that comes out is "Yup, wack job...", "wow", Mr. DeGeorge's literary acumen appears to be as badly flawed as his political perceptions", "... the dying last gasp of of loser-ocracy", "...who unlocked the door to the loony bin and let this wack job escape", "...see what happens when you let those people out of state hospitals..." and it keeps going and going. Do you all get the socialist talking points by fax every morning? Come on guys and gals, your boy is in office now. It's suppose to be eutopia and tip-toeing through the tulips. Your letting a little birth-certificate issue raise your blood pressure? Like Anonymous said, "WOW"!!!

Melissa B. writes: "I'm confused, are you talking about Bush or Obama?"

Unfortunately Bush cannot be impeached as he is no longer president. The bright side of that is that if a county or state prosecuter can be found who is willing to follow the outline set forth by Vincent Bugliosi, he can be prosecuted for murder.

Obama can and should be impeached for violating the Constitution by continuing to use the Bush domestic surveillance program and for dealing with the banksters that caused the financial meltdown in the manner proscribed by the Prompt Corrective Action law for starters.

We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Obama's parents obviously knew that, when he was born in Kenya, he was going to run for president some day so they perpetrated a sinister plan to obtain a certificate of live birth from Hawaii. I mean they must have looked at the history of rich white men being president in the US and knew that the child of a poor, multi-racial, multi-national couple born in Kenya would obviously win the presidency almost 5 decades later. That was some foresight! I also heard that Obama is only 34!

I forwarded your letter to President Obama, he apologizes for the oversight and says he will resign. Thanks for pointing out the error of his ways.

Allan - Condi Rice's perpetuation of the myths (lies) that got us into Iraq is quite sufficient to oppose her candidacy. It has nothing to do with color. By the way, when did the right get so race sensitive? It seems like moments ago you were talking "the REAL (white) America" of fundamentalist, gun toting cretins whining not only about Obama's election but having lost the Civil War. I'm sure - given the state of the country, courtesy of Bush - producing the president's birth certificate is high on everyone's to do list..........is this really all you've got?

OMG! They're coming out of the woodwork. Are birthers born from bedbugs? Prove to me that your mother isn't a bedbug, Mel. I'm waiting. Nothing? See - proof!!! Mel is actually a bedbug. The TA should have a policy that prohibits bedbugs from posting in these forums. I'll have to write a letter to editor.

Allan McGregor,

A birth certificate has never been historically necessary to determine citizenship. Chester A. Arthur (our 21st President, a Republican and a Vermonter) was rumored to be from Canada. He changed his own birth information multiple times. His father was from Ireland. He didn't have a birth certificate. Are you saying he wasn't eligible to be President?

Ha! I really enjoyed the way you had a straw man argument with yourself there, Allan. Who's the knuckle dragger? Look in the mirror, donkey!

He wasn't born a US citizen, if he was there wouldn't be so much drama, manipulation of documents and secrecy behind all of this. Just produce a BIRTH CERTIFICATE that isnt altered, but of course HE is the President, if anyone can get a "get out of free" jail card it would be him. There sure wouldn't be a forum of discussion on it either if he provided actual documentation of his birth. I'm sure I will be targeted next because I believe in the Constitution and what it represents and not in all the "goof balls" in Washington.

You know if this is such a done deal. Why won't Obama produce an actual birth certificate. You know a real one that states the hospital, the doctor, the time. etc. How hard is that. Well he's at it. How about the "most transparent" administration of all time release anything from his past. And all you idiots can just drop the race card anytime. Out of all the names thrown around for 2008 my choice would've been Condi Rice. Oh that's right she's just an "Uncle Tom" because she doesn't tow the liberal line. There's your racism. The left thinks black people all have to think the same way. Maybe that's why you're the party that has ex-clan member sitting in the U.S. Senate. You know some peop0le can disagree with Obama for his policies (abortion, taxes, healthcare not just his color. Welcome to the 21st century, knuckledraggers.

We have in Mr. DeGeorge's comments the last dying gasp of the loser-ocracy.
We called this type of off the wall comment "sore loser" when I was a kid. Because the anti-change, anti-black, anti-post 1950 crowd lost in November, they have fallen back on one of the oldest ploys known - denial. It didn't happen because it can't happen.
Well, Mr. DeGeorge, the earth is not flat, Armstrong did land on the moon, what goes up does come down, the twin towers fell from airplane hits, the sun will return even after eclipse, and We will survive President Obama just like we managed to survive the W.
Better to accept reality than deny it.

Alright, who unlocked the door to the birther loony bin and let this whack job escape?
I swear, these nut jobs are so convinced that Obama was not born in the US that if Jesus Christ himself told them that Obama is indeed a "natural born citizen", they would call him a liar.

Mr DeGeorge, Joseph Farah is hardly a reliable source. Even he has acknowledged that Obama is a natural born citizen. The only reason he keeps harping on this subject is because it gets people like you to send him money.

"For whom the bell tolls......" is a quote from John Donne depicting the interconnectedness of all human beings..........Mr. DeGeorge's literary acumen appears to be as badly flawed as his political perceptions. In his paranoid search for illegitimacy he might have landed on November, 2000.
