BARRE – Several local law enforcement agencies have announced increased patrols between now and the July 4 weekend in Orange and Washington counties.
The Berlin Police Department, the Northfield Police Department and the sheriff's departments in Orange and Washington counties will conduct increased speed checks, roadside safety checks and aggressive driving patrols through midnight July 5, according the Berlin Police Department.
"These details will concentrate on motorists who choose to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drive aggressively and fail to wear their seat belts," said Berlin Police Chief William Wolfe in a news release. "Our increased presence on the roads will serve as a reminder to motorists to obey all traffic laws."
