Northfield woman charged in assault

WARREN – A Northfield woman was cited for unlawful mischief and domestic assault after she allegedly went on a rampage Saturday night, hitting her husband, tearing off his shirt and smashing a woman's windshield with a block of wood.
Christie Atwood, 22, is scheduled to appear in Vermont District Court in Barre on May 26 to face the charges.
Police responded to a Warren residence where Atwood had smashed the windshield of the car belonging to Stacey Powers, 21, of Barre and assaulted her husband, Andrew Atwood, 35, of Northfield, police said.
Police later caught up with Atwood in Northfield and issued the citations.
