Police search for man after sexual assault

GLOVER – Police are hunting for a 37-year-old man who they believe sexually and physically assaulted a female in Glover. Arrest warrants have been issued for Patrick L. Melville for aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping, police said in a news release.
Vermont State Police in Derby and the Orleans County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a sexual assault on Wednesday. Investigators found a female subject with severe injuries, who was later treated at the North Country hospital.
Police said that Melville fled the scene in a blue 2002 Subaru Impreza with the Vermont license plate DTY590. Police don't know where Melville is, but said due to the severity of the crimes, he should be considered dangerous.
Since the crime was reported, police have been patrolling Orleans and Caledonia counties along with the surrounding areas in an attempt to locate Melville, as of 1 p.m. Thursday, his location was unknown.
