BARRE – Mary Franks and Todd Rivard are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Elizabeth Fleming of Barre and the late James Fleming.
He is the son of Roger and Shirley Rivard of Barre.
The future bride graduated from U-32 High School in East Montpelier in 1981 and attends Community College of Vermont.
The future groom graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1982; Lyndon State College in 1987 with an associate degree in general studies; and Keene State College in Keene, N.H., in 1991 with a bachelor's in industrial technology. He works for the U.S. Postal Service.
An Aug. 15, 2009, wedding is planned in Calais.
