'Wizard' auditions

HYDE PARK – The Lamoille County Players are "off to see the Wizard" this summer, and you can join them! Auditions for LCP's summer musical comedy "The Wizard of Oz" will be held on May 2 and 3. The auditions will be located at Lamoille Union High School in Hyde Park (about one mile from the Hyde Park Opera House) starting at 1 p.m. The show dates are July 16-19 and 23-26 at the Opera House. Producers Nancy MacDowell of Jeffersonville and Dean Burnell of Johnson explain that auditioners can attend either day and should arrive at 1 p.m. sharp. They remind auditioners to bring their calendars with them to note any schedule conflicts. No appointments are necessary, people should wear clothes and shoes they can move or dance in, and there is no need to bring any prepared material. "We'll teach you what you need," adds Jacob.
