DUXBURY – The Crossett Brook Middle School Parent Teacher Organization will present "MetaMURPHphosis," a lively, fun-filled, family show on Saturday, May 2, at 7 p.m., at the school, featuring comedian and performance artist Tom Murphy. Having performed his unique form of vaudeville, performance art, and simply clowning around for audiences around Europe and the U.S., Murphy now makes his home in Waterbury Center. His career has spanned more than 30 years and includes stints as instructor to aspiring performers at colleges and universities including Boston University's Theater Institute, Ecole Nationale du Circue in Paris, and Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Clown College. Part clown, part mime, part stand-up slapstick comedian, Murphy puts on an energetic non-stop show to keep adults chuckling and children howling. Proceeds from this performance will go to the school PTO to fund enrichment projects including student field trips and after-school programs. Doors open at CBMS at 5:30, and pizza, hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, and other sweet treats will be for sale.
Tickets are $7, $5 for students (under 2 free) or $20 per family. For more information, contact Marcy Pelkey at 244-1952 or marcyotr@myfairpoint net.
