RANDOLPH – Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph has created a new program, "The Next Generation," for showcasing young local talent in the area of classical music. Auditions for this event were held at Chandler Music Hall in mid-March and 10 students were chosen. These youngsters range in age from 14 to 18 and come from Bridport, Burlington, Middlebury, Montpelier, Barre, Northfield, Randolph and Norwich, as well as Hanover and Etna, N.H. On the program will be solo vocal and solo piano works, including an original piano composition; a string quartet; a piano-cello duo; and a famous Bach work performed on a Russian accordion. This concert had been announced to take place on Friday, May 1. However, in order to accommodate the schedules of these busy youngsters, the date has been changed to Friday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available through the box office at (802) 728-6464 or online at www.chandler-arts.org.
