RANDOLPH – Police are investigating reports that vandals broke into two parked vehicles and took items from at least one of them some time Friday or Saturday morning.
According to police, both vehicles were parked at the Exit 4 park-and-ride on Route 66 in Randolph.
Police said they were called to the scene by the owner of one of the two vehicles – a truck – shortly before 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. When they arrived they found the front driver's side window smashed out and discovered the radio/CD player had been forcibly removed from the vehicle. The owner also said a Stanley toolbox and a number of tools were taken.
During their on-scene investigation police discovered the driver's side window of a car parked a short distance away had also been smashed. They contacted the owner, who responded to the scene and informed them nothing appeared to be missing.
Sgt. Craig Gardner is interested in talking to anyone who was at the park-and-ride Friday night or early Saturday morning who may have witnessed anything suspicious or has information about either incident. He can be contacted at the state police barracks in Royalton, (802) 234-9933.

WATERBURY – Friday the 13th lived up to its billing for a Barre man who was spotted driving erratically on Interstate 89 shortly after 7 p.m.
Daniel Davis, 27, was subsequently pulled over by police on Route 100 near I-89 and cited with drunken driving, as well as driving with a criminally suspended license. He is scheduled to be arraigned on both chargers on April 2 at Vermont District Court in Barre.

Former UVM frat president pleads in cocaine case
The Associated Press
BURLINGTON – A former University of Vermont fraternity president charged in a cocaine ring that operated from his frat house bedroom has pleaded guilty to conspiracy.
Christopher Duncan, 23, of Syosset, N.Y., entered the plea this week and faces sentencing June 29.
Prosecutors say Duncan, the former head of Lambda Iota, let supplier Allen Page keep cash and drugs in Duncan's room and that many drug deals took place at the house.
Last October, Page was sentenced to 70 months in prison. The house was shut down after police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents infiltrated it in April 2007.

The 15-year-old victim told police she had sex with LaFountain in December 2007 after the two exchanged explicit photos of themselves via cell phone and had other sexual contact.
