LYNDON – Danyelle Shufelt poured in 25 points for Lyndon in Tuesday's 56-41 girls basketball victory over Montpelier.

Kelsey King added eight points for the Vikings, who pulled away by outscoring the Solons 17-6 in the second quarter.

"Shufelt had 13 points in that quarter alone," Montpelier coach Lynn Ribolini said. "She got some breakaways and she was also 6-of-7 from the foul line. We tried to play a little more aggressive on her with a half-court defense, but we ended up fouling her and she's a good foul-shooter. And after that it was tough to catch back up."

Leading the way for Montpelier were Joslin Parker (nine points), Danielle Baroudi (six points) and Jill Dellipriscoli (six points). Lyndon improves to 15-2, while Montpelier falls to 11-6 and will host Lamoille on Thursday.
