BENNINGTON (AP) — A Bennington plant that makes auto parts is continuing to reduce its work force.

The latest layoffs at NSK Steering Systems America brings to a total of 200 the number of layoffs since October.

NSK Human Resources Manager Gregory Laurin says 51 hourly employees and 20 salaried employees were laid off Dec. 19 when the plant shut down because automakers shut down their assembly plants during the holidays.

Laurin says the company's orders have "dried up" as automakers cope with the recession.

One NSK production line restarted on Monday and more could follow.

The Congress of the United States provided TARP money the peoples money from the US treasury for the corporations that are "TOO BIG TO FAIL". Keeping the corporation afloat implied that a jobs crisis would be avoided.

It looks like the people of this country have been misled again. too big to fail means the corporation must remain solvent. Auto sales are down by 30 to 40%

Obviously there was never any intention to create jobs or protect the workforce simply protect the corporations.

Corporatism: the blending of government and corporate power.

Looks like the R and d political system is still employing the "trickle down theory" or a "rising tide lifts all boats" with results that leave people in their own personal economic depression.

What the government and corporations are saying to the people of this country "let them eat cake"

The r and d political system and the corporations are responsible for our demise. it is way past time to destroy this system.

this depression will get worse, in fact Obama, a D, stated that in a recent briefing.

Looks life we only exist to obey the commands of government and the corporations
peons of the workforce.

the government is playing the same game with the people as roosevelt did.

Are you a free and independent person or a subject of the whims of the govenrment and corporations.
