These are some of the calls received by the Montpelier Police Department from Dec. 29 – Jan. 4:



Police arrested an Elm Street resident after failing to appear in Washington District Court, and cited a friend at the same time.

Donald Alexander, 26, was arrested on Jan. 3 after police had applied for a search warrant. When police initially arrived at his residence, they were told Alexander was not there. After police entered, they located Alexander inside and arrested him.

Kathline M. Dunn, 38, was cited during the incident to appear in Washington District Court for impeding a police officer.

Also, on Jan. 3, Colin Gunn, 25, of Montpelier was cited to appear in court on the charges of urinating in public.

Dec. 29

Under suspicious activity: An anonymous caller reported they saw a small fire in the area of Taylor Street and Memorial Drive, turned around and the fire was out.

A passerby reported the bell alarm ringing at a River Street business.

Police reported a grey Saab traveling excessively fast.

A male went to the police station to report his car got scratched by the car next to it.

A citizen reported finding an American Express card.

A female caller reported an older maroon Ford pickup not registered, inspected or insured.

Police received a report of a vehicle parked and running, with no adult around.

Montpelier Ambulance Service reported it had difficulty getting around on Cedar Hill Lane because of parked vehicles.

A male came to the police station, requesting to speak with an officer regarding graffiti.

Police received a report of a propane delivery truck out of fuel, crossways in the road.

Police reported debris in the road — papers in a box that were moved to the side.

Someone was reported singing loudly in the area of a State Street business.

A group of people were reported for loitering outside a Main Street establishment.

Police received a report that a mother punched and closed the door on her daughter.

Under suspicious activity: A male was reported standing on the side of a roadway.



Dec. 30

An Elm Street resident reported the neighbors making noise and a loud party.

Police received a report of an injured deer at roadside in the area of Main and College streets.

A woman called to report receiving two harassing phone calls from an identified male.

An F250 was reported for being parked on the street; the plow won't be able to get around it.

Police received a report of a Honda Civic hit while parked on River Street.

A Main Street church reported a gentleman causing a problem.

A blue Subaru was reported for driving off from a Berlin Street business without paying $9.07.

A male turned in a found pager belonging to an employee.

Keys were reported found in back of the Department of Motor Vehicles; believed to be Subaru, post office key.

A Vermont-registered vehicle was reported for being illegally parked and difficult to get around.

Police reported finding two keys, including a post office key, on a meter.

One citizen found keys in front of City Hall, with four keys on the ring.

Under suspicious circumstances: One resident reported receiving a couple of text messages and a phone call.

Street lights were reported out on East State Street.



Dec. 31

A Prospect Street resident reported an upstairs neighbor and loud music.

Police received a report from someone who believes a female is illegally using a handicap placard.

An apartment building owner requested to speak with an officer regarding a problem between two tenants.

The Department of Public Works requested police assistance in shutting off water at a residence.

A maroon truck was reported for parking in a no parking zone.

Police received a report of a red Toyota with an older woman inside off the road and in a snowbank.

A black leather tri-fold wallet was found.

A female came to the police station with questions regarding ongoing harassment.

A Barre Street resident reported a neighbor screamed at him and pounded on his car.

A cell phone was turned in at the police station lobby.

A Christmas tree was reported in roadway by roundabout at Spring and Main streets.

A purse was turned in at the police station lobby.

A blue Nokia cell phone found in the street was turned in at the police station.

A Barre Street resident reported her boyfriend won't leave the residence.

A male reported the entire driver's side of his car was damaged while parked.

Under suspicious circumstances: Vehicle with open door.



Jan. 1

Police received a report of a possible underage drinking party on Grandview Terrace.

A window was reported pulled out of a Barre Street business.

Under suspicious circumstances: A caller reported they think someone may be in the men's bathroom of a Main Street location.

Police received a report of a front door partially open on Parkside Drive.

Police received a report of a car off the road with Connecticut plates, one male with it.

Police received a report from a Langdon Street establishment that it needs a male removed.

Police reported a male, possibly intoxicated, staggering up the street, wearing a T-shirt.

An Elm Street resident reported a group of people outside yelling and swearing.



Jan. 2

A Canadian requested information on laws in Vermont.

Police received a report of a Vermont-registered Subaru that rolled into another vehicle on Main Street.

A lost brown wallet with a thin pink stripe on the front was reported.

A lost black wallet with pink elephants, a change purse, was reported.

Police received a report that a road rage incident took place.

Police received a report of a vehicle off the side of the road, with a crunched fender, in the area of Muddy Brook Road and Farwell Street.

A Cedar Hill Lane resident reported a problem with a neighbor banging, threatening.

A Calais resident reported lost credit cards and cash.

An Elm Street resident reported a moving truck parked and impeding traffic.

A male reported being head-butted at a State Street business.



Jan. 3

Police reported a pickup truck with an unreadable plate, traveling in the area of Berlin and Wilson streets, losing garbage.

A cell phone caller reported an elderly woman walking down the center of the road on Elm Street.

Police received a report that someone dropped a bag of marijuana on the floor of a Memorial Drive business.

A Gallison Hill Road resident reported the neighbor's Beagle has been barking all day.

Police received a request for assistance with juvenile son.



Jan. 4

A concerned citizen reported finding what appears to be a pot pipe and lighter at a Main Street location.

A Barre Street business owner reported feeling scared because of male outside store.

A North Street resident called police to report the residence has no water.

A Main Street resident reported the neighbor's dogs are barking.

A River Street business reported someone stole a pack of cigarettes from the store.

Four hours later, police received another report from the Main Street resident about the neighbor's dogs barking.
