LEBANON, N.H. — A New Hampshire teen was hospitalized after a snowmobile accident Friday afternoon in Randolph Center.
Vermont State Police said around 12:30 p.m., James Morgan, 17, of Plainfield, N.H., was riding a Ski-Doo GSX 500 on private property on Neighbors Road when he hit a bump and was thrown from the snowmobile. Police said Morgan was traveling between 35 and 40 mph when he was thrown; while he landed away from the Ski-Doo he sustained possible rib and spinal injuries and might have fractured his hand.
Police said Morgan was transported by helicopter, which landed in the parking lot of Vermont Technical College, to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Friday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Police said it was the first time Morgan had operated a snowmobile. Police are still investigating the incident.
