Twinfield drops one to Thetford

CHESTER — Twinfield had the only player in double figures, but Thetford's depth and balance was enough to push the Panthers past the Trojans 36-31 in girls basketball Friday at the Green Mountain Union Holiday Tournament.
Twinfield's Becca Chodorkoff scored 12 to lead all scorers, but nine different Panthers scored to get the victory. Both teams struggled from the foul line with Twinfield, now 3-3, hitting just five of 12 free throws and Thetford missing 12 of 21 free throws.
Twinfield will play in the consolation game on Tuesday against the loser of Friday's matchup between host Green Mountain and Twin Valley.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Hazen 57, Lyndon 47
HARDWICK — Both teams started slowly, but home-standing Hazen finished much faster, running to a 57-47 victory over Lyndon in boys basketball Friday.
The Wildcats remained unbeaten at 6-0 with the victory as they got 18 points from George Coultas, 12 points from Tanner Benjamin and 10 points from Billy Boyd.
Jake Garfield topped the 2-5 Vikings with 17 points while Jimmy Lau scored 14 and Dan Bishop added 12.
The Wildcats will put their undefeated record on the line Monday in the opening round of the Corey Plante Tournament at U-32. Hazen will take on Mt. Abraham.
