NORTHFIELD – The Twinfield boys basketball team shook off some first-half early season rust and outscored Twinfield 18-12 in the fourth quarter to earn a 41-35 victory on Thursday night.

Cody Chamberlin led the Marauders with 17 points, including two 3-pointers and 3-of-6 shooting from the free-throw line.

Teammate Gordon Wobby added eight points, Kyle Przekaza added five and Jackson Diebold finished with four points.

The Trojans were paced by Shayne Flood's 17 points, 10 of which came from the field.

Dave Spidle added seven points for 1-0 Twinfield.

The Marauders took a 7-3 first-quarter lead but the Trojans answered and tied the game at 10 headed into halftime.

A 13-point effort by both teams in the third quarter tied the game at 23 going into the final eight minutes, and Twinfield pulled away for the 41-35 final.

"It was very sloppy," Twinfield coach Ira Wheeler said.

"There were many turnovers and many fouls. It was sloppy, but we'll take it."

Northfield starts out at 0-1 and plays at Randolph on Tuesday while Twinfield opens at 1-0 and hosts Stowe next Thursday.
