To help the Youth Services Bureau and its Teen Parent Program, Joy Spontak suggests:

  • Adopt an imaginary family and once a week for the next six months, drop off a box of food filled with all the things they would like at your local food shelf.

  • Take good, used baby, children's and maternity clothes, cribs, furniture and strollers, to Women and Children First, 185 North Main Street in Barre (802-476-4413) or Heather's Nearly New, 62 River St., Montpelier, (802-229-4002). Call first; mention the Teen Parent Program's account. (You can also donate money to the accounts.)

  • Drop off toys for 0-3-year-olds, diapers, gift certificates for food and canned soup at the Youth Services Bureau, 38 Elm St., Montpelier.
