NEW YORK – Monique McLean scored a game-high 22 points to lead St. John's to Sunday's 70-58 women's college basketball victory over the University of Vermont.
The Catamounts fall to 4-2, while the Red Storm improve to 5-1. Courtnay Pilypaitis led Vermont with 19 points and 11 rebounds for her 12 career double-double and third of the season. May Kotsopoulos added 15 points, including 11 points in the second half for Vermont.
After playing five games in nine days, UVM will take five days off before returning home to take on Holy Cross on Saturday at 1 p.m.
